This feels like a good week for a run. It was nice to get back on routine last week, and this week feels like the holidays are about to begin. Nothing feels like the holidays like going for a run in the hotel gym room 🙂
Its gotten dark and cold up here. Seems like November has given way to Winter very quickly. Already, I’m beginning to notice a difference in energy levels, lack of sunshine, lack of being able to not put a sweater on. Winter is definitely here.
Sometimes, you just have to jump on in, get moving, get started, get going. Sometimes, you realize what you could have done or been and you mentally contrast that with what you currently are, or more painfully, what you are not.
Sometimes you have to put method into action.
Every week, I try to write a new entry for this ‘gym’ / ‘workout’ thing I’m doing and I always place some inane babble about here. I don’t have a lot to say really. Not today anyway. I went to the gym. See results below:
For the past few weeks, on and off, I’ve been more or less tracking what I eat. Every calories, snack and morsel – I write it down, trying to understand my habits better, trying to quantify my foodstuffs. The resulting list ain’t so pretty.
There are some obvious issues with my diet.
There are some days when you leave the gym, thinking you’ve failed, you could have given more, or that your workout didnt feel great.
This was not one of those days.
In Albert Camus’ novel the Fall, Camus wrote this line in reference to Clemence’s collision between his self and his over inflated self-image. There is a lot to be understood from this single line.
Its been a crazy busy couple of weeks. Its always nice to clear your head with a workout after a long day and week.
Its another late Wednesday night. Remember, the hardest step is always the first one out the door.
OK, push ups can be hard, especially if you’re not used to them. They are a big part of any fitness plan, you can do them anywhere, with no equipment and have hundreds of varieties.
“But I can’t do a push up!”
its okay. baby steps man.
