August 25th: Every day makes a difference.
This feels like a good week for a run. It was nice to get back on routine last week, and this week feels like the holidays are about to begin. Nothing feels like the holidays like going for a run in the hotel gym room 🙂
It feels like forever since I’ve done one of these. Not that I’ve been out of the gym, although I was absent for about a week, but I’ve been neglecting these blog posts. Ok, here’s a quick update:
Rome wasn’t build in a day and all that.
It is what it is.
I’ve been out of practice/shape for so long, and I’m so up to my ears in different thoughts and exercises and philosophies on getting in shape that I’m lost. Completely, utterly dumbfounded.
And then I found Raphael.
Its gotten dark and cold up here. Seems like November has given way to Winter very quickly. Already, I’m beginning to notice a difference in energy levels, lack of sunshine, lack of being able to not put a sweater on. Winter is definitely here.
Sometimes, you just have to jump on in, get moving, get started, get going. Sometimes, you realize what you could have done or been and you mentally contrast that with what you currently are, or more painfully, what you are not.
Sometimes you have to put method into action.
Every week, I try to write a new entry for this ‘gym’ / ‘workout’ thing I’m doing and I always place some inane babble about here. I don’t have a lot to say really. Not today anyway. I went to the gym. See results below:
For the past few weeks, on and off, I’ve been more or less tracking what I eat. Every calories, snack and morsel – I write it down, trying to understand my habits better, trying to quantify my foodstuffs. The resulting list ain’t so pretty.
There are some obvious issues with my diet.
